Cuba

The blog has fallen by the wayside the last several months. It's hard to find things to write about when all of the big "firsts" have happened- first date, first kiss, first sex, and first "I Love You".

One of the Student's close friends was getting married in August. We flew to the West Coast for the wedding and then flew to Cuba for a week at the Sandals resort. It was the Student's first hot holiday and only his second trip out of the country.

The holiday was better than I ever could have imagined. And oh-so-romantic. Everyone we met asked if we were on our honeymoon. After attending the wedding and being at a couples resort, the topic of marriage inevitably arose. We had previously talked about being together for the long term, but a wedding or marriage was never discussed. It turns out he has ideas for first dance songs. I was stunned- how many guys admit to having a list of potential first dance songs? It was hilarious and incredibly endearing.

We loved Cuba- the country, the people, the food, the drinks, and the ocean. We desperately want to go back. We were planning on a Christmas holiday but we made a fairly large joint purchase this fall that does not allow us to do so. But we will definitely be back. One day.
